Finca el Mango - Castovento Mangos Coffee in 🇨🇴 Colombia – Risaralda

About The Farm

Finca El Mango is a family-run coffee farm located in the rural community of Bajo San Juan, near Santa Rosa de Cabal in the Colombian department of Risaralda. Established in 1976, the farm represents almost 50 years of family coffee-growing tradition and is now managed by second-generation producer Juan Carlos Moscoso Alzate.

The farm covers six hectares, five of which are dedicated to Arabica coffee cultivation at approximately 1,600 metres above sea level. Finca El Mango grows the varieties Castillo Naranjal, Catimor and Colombia, with an annual production of around 15,000 kilograms.

The coffee cherries are selectively harvested by hand, and the main harvest period extends from September to December, with an additional harvest in May. The coffee grows under partial shade and is offered primarily in small lots of between five and twenty bags.

Finca El Mango works with a diverse range of processing methods, including washed, natural, honey, semi-washed, wet-hulled and experimental processes. Traditional fermentation is used throughout processing, with close attention paid to careful handling and consistent quality. The farm’s coffees achieve cupping scores of approximately 83 points.

As a family business, Finca El Mango combines its long-standing agricultural heritage with a commitment to direct trade and closer relationships with coffee buyers. Water treatment systems have also been implemented to support more responsible processing practices.

The coffee is generally available directly at origin, and the farm is open to working with international buyers. Through Castovento Mangos Coffee, Juan Carlos and his family continue a coffee tradition built over two generations while developing new opportunities for their coffees in the specialty market.
