About The Farm

English

Finca Puerto Alegre is part of Lacia Specialty Coffee, a family-run coffee project based in Pijao, Quindío, Colombia. Founded in 1984, the farm is located at altitudes between 1,250 and 1,750 meters above sea level and covers 200 hectares, with 150 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation. Its scale, long history, and location in Colombia’s traditional coffee-growing region make it a distinctive origin for specialty coffee.

The producer behind the farm is Jairo Iván López Agudelo, recognized as one of the early specialty coffee producers in Colombia. Today, the commercial side is represented by Alejandro López, continuing the family’s work with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and international visibility.

Finca Puerto Alegre cultivates Arabica varieties including Bourbon, Castillo, Geisha/Gesha, Laurina, Sidra, Pink Bourbon, and Java. The farm works with washed, semi-washed, honey, and natural processes, as well as anaerobic fermentation and carbonic maceration. Coffees are selectively hand-picked, available in different lot sizes, and can be sourced both at origin and from EU warehouse stock.
