Aveki
Colombia – Cundinamarca
About The Farm
Aveki is a family-run specialty coffee farm located in Guayabal de Síquima, in the Colombian department of Cundinamarca. Founded in 2018, the farm covers five hectares, all of which are dedicated to coffee cultivation at an elevation of approximately 1,750 metres above sea level.
The story of Aveki began with the desire to escape the fast pace of city life. In the middle of the urban routine, there was less and less space for deep conversations and meaningful connection. In Guayabal de Síquima, the family found refuge in a biodiverse environment that helped them reconnect with what truly mattered and speak openly from the heart.
Surrounded by mountains and sharing a cup of coffee in the morning, they learned to listen to one another again. In the afternoons, they shared dreams that had long been forgotten, and in the evenings, they began planning how to turn those dreams into reality. From this conscious connection, the idea for their own coffee was born.
Aveki means “to speak.” The farm’s coffee therefore represents connection, warmth and the genuine moments the family discovered in this place. It reflects a life they are cultivating together — bean by bean and conversation by conversation.
With an annual production of approximately 3,000 kilograms, Aveki specialises in carefully produced Arabica microlots and small lots. The farm cultivates the Colombia variety and produces natural and honey-processed coffees. Close attention is given to every stage of production, from selective hand-picking and careful cherry selection to controlled fermentation and drying.
Anaerobic fermentation and yeast-inoculated fermentation are used to develop distinctive sensory profiles and maintain consistent quality. The farm’s coffees achieve cupping scores of approximately 83 points.
The main harvests take place in June and December. Coffee is grown under partial shade and selectively harvested by hand. Available volumes primarily include microlots of fewer than five bags and small lots of between five and twenty bags.
Aveki follows organically oriented farming practices without formal certification. The family cultivates its own microorganisms for the biological control of pests and plant diseases, helping to reduce the need for conventional chemical treatments. Liquid fertilisation is also used to support plant nutrition and soil health.
Quality control, sorting and screening are carried out in collaboration with a long-term dry mill partner in Bogotá. The coffee is generally available at origin, and Aveki is able to work directly with international buyers. The farm has also participated in regional coffee competitions.
Through conscious farming, controlled processing and close attention to every detail, Aveki seeks to produce coffees for people who value quality, traceability and a genuine connection to origin.
